Airgator is proud to introduce a line of backup battery solutions for your XM WX receivers. This range of unique battery solutions offers backup options ranging from 2 hours to over 7 hours to fit every need and cockpit environment.  the NAXM Battery Packs are NOW ON SALE.  SEE THEM IN THE DEALS OF THE MONTH 

 Designed to be charged by your existing NAVAir power harness, these units connect in-line and feed your XM WX receiver with clean, continuous battery power. You can now start your weather system prior to engine start without concerns for XM WX connectivity problems, and know that if you ever suffer an in-flight power failure, your NAVAir PDA or EFB will continue to receive XM WX data without interruption until you can land safely. Additionally you can now use the battery to power your XM WX receiver on the ground in order to get preflight weather information, and prepare your routes at home. in your hotel, office or in the FBO.

All NAVAir Battery Backup solutions come with a power switch to save battery power when not in use, a set of Green and Red LEDs with a test switch to show you remaining power and sophisticated charging and battery protection circuits to ensure clean, reliable power and long battery life. We offer two compact, low profile models designed for easy cockpit placement, portability and carrying ease.

When plugged in to airplane power in flight, NAVAir battery packs continuously charge and power your weather receivers. A fully drained battery pack will start charging and powering your XM WX receiver as soon as external power is applied, and will reach full capacity in 2 - 4 hours. Faster charging times are possible if the battery pack is not powering your receiver at the same time.

NAXM-BP-1 is similar in size to an EFB power harness box, measuring 2.25" x 2.25" x 1" and weighing less than 1/4 pound. A fully charged unit will power a Bluetooth XM WX receiver for at least 2 hours. A single, multi-color LED gives you quick battery status indication with a single button push.

NAXM-BP-2, at 4.5" x 2.75" x 1" and less than one half pound, will power your XM WX receiver for at least 4 hours, and is internally upgradeable to 7 hours. Four LEDs provide detailed power status indication with a single button push.

Both units are more cost effective, lighter, smaller and offer longer battery life and faster charging than any other solution on the market.

Got it, subscribed to XM and played with it on the ground. I had to test fly a Bonanza after an autopilot repair and there was a line of CB’s approaching. I flew straight for them. The stormscope 1000 in this plane was "spoking" so it wouldn’t indicate with any precision the actual location of the line. Awesome! I could actually find "holes" through the line without having to patrol for them. The rain boundaries depicted on the map coincided so close to the actual rain that it amazed me. I expected the delay from NEXRAD to be appreciable, but in reality you hardly notice it. I can already tell that this will dramatically increase the utility of my plane and all the other ones I fly. We leave tomorrow for a long weekend in Houston. I feel so much more relaxed knowing that I’ll have the big picture when I have to face the inevitable summer time line.
