The New Approaches 3D Allows You To:
See your position and altitude on the approach procedure plan view, and on the vertical profile on any approach plate provided by the FAA.
See your position as you taxi on any airport diagram in the US, both full page diagrams and the small drawings that are part of IAPs
Utilize 100% of an EFB or PDA display to see the plate image. No more wasted screen space for window frames and controls.
See you aircraft ground speed, heading and GPS altitude superimposed on the plate, together with GPS & Plate currency flags. All without blocking the procedure and critical data.
Initiate a count up or count down timer with a single onscreen button tap.
Zoom in an out as much as you like, for 50% to 800% zoom in any increment.
Drag the plate image around the display with your finger, or tap once to jump to any portion of the procedure or airport diagram.

At this time Approaches 3D is available only for EFBs and Windows-based PCs. We plan to release a PDA/Windows Mobile version 4 – 6 weeks after the release of the EFB version. The first production release of Approaches 3D on EFBs was in early July 2008.
Some of the features described above are not yet in this release, and will be added in future updates together with other improvements and bug fixes, so keep an eye out for rapid program updates.
